Rapes and molestations all around the country in this day and age. Isn't that shameful!? Perhaps not! Because all we did was share the story, gossip about it and the downward spiral our country is headed to. Arnub and co. had a field day at office airing the interviews of the kins of the victims and the rapists, all the while spicing things up to get ahead in TRPs. And that's that. It has now become a rhetoric, a routine, the rapes and the shortlived anger thereafter. Our demnetia stricken heads get over the heinous crimes and we are left waiting for the next incident, that too a major one, for our brain cells to be stimulated against it again. In the meantime we argue how rich Indian Culture is. So much so that a girl in her periods is forbidden from entry to temples, a country where the GDP keeps falling but the debate of mandir hoga ki masjid must go on and on, a tradition and culture so rich that in large parts of the country dowry is still considered justified in exchange for all the 'petting' a girl gets after marriage. Finally a country where people are ashamed of buying condoms and sanitary pads because apparently sex and periods are held in too high esteem or maybe the opposite but there is no shame in raping and ripping of a woman's body or charring it. Let's face it. We are a failed nation. A nation which has failed to provide education to its masses and still does not introduce measures to contain the population, a large part of which comprise people who just grow up to fill the political rallies and fight in the name of religion and parties, people who were born to people who perceived a woman and her body as a mute toy, a live condom with an output to follow. What else can we expect from such people who are brought up seeing how the mother in their homes more as a maid with little respect and no regard for her consent in any matter including her own body. What happens is these people go out expecting the other women out there in the world to be as inanimate and lifeless and complying as what they have seen growing up. As every incident keeps pushing our country's image further and farther back our politicians continue to mesmerise us with the tried and tasted recipe of 'Pakistan ko nahi chorenge', 'All mishappenings are a result of the previous government' amd all that. And sadly enough we keep digesting the rhetoric happily. We are not far from anarchy and its time for our leaders to acknowledge it. A Digital India brings more bane than boon for an uneducated country. It's high time the govenment of the day took a measure stromg enough to soothe the insecurities and the anger amongst the educated and informed populace. We shouldn't be a country whose own people wish Thanos to be more real than fiction. #EducatedBeings
