Those days when making fans out of papers were the genius ideas and siblings dramas were the horror theaters. When most of the family bliss used to appear on certain times with humming tunes and murmurings rhymes. Lighting lanterns under the hut and fighting noise was the beauty of power cut. Powercut Times of smiles, heard in the balconies.. The time of each age group begin their gathering.. Children swinging around holding their hands together.. Ancestral prediction that gets every ear's attention.. Moon light is enough to get to see the beauty of eachother.. The night of one big family gathering, got well crafted.. Some drew themselves to the surface to enjoy darker view.. POWER CUT In a dark summer evening A sudden strike of lightning, Accompanied by a loud thunder, Resulted in a power cut. Harsh breeze was blowing out, Candles couldn't sustain, So, the lanterns were lightened. Storm paused as it began to rain Humid was aura, Worsening the situation. But, folded newspapers emerged out as the best hand fans, Even in a crisis, we discovered fun. Humming the melodies, of evergreen 90s, Relieving the stress of summer, Turning it into a magic. It is not "TODAY" nor "NOWADAYS", This is " YESTERDAY-LONG BACK, YESTERDAYS". ************* Now no more magic happens, Power cuts are less frequent And could never be felt.
