September 2nd ramble In two weeks is my birthday Another year to check off Fifty was a big milestone Fifty one I will soon cross I don't have parties anymore In my twenties it was common Buying lots of beer and liquor Getting drunk without caution In my thirties I slowed right down Only drinking occasionally a bit I lost the urge to get drunk then The mornings I always felt like sh&t It doesn't bother me if others drink We each have a release from reality Some prefer drugs, tv or even food An escape is what everyone needs I stopped drinking alcohol completely Not a drop I've had for nearly two years I wouldn't say I will never drink again I just don't crave it like I did with my peers ©Schizology September 2nd ramble #Ramble #Random #poem✍🧡🧡💛
